There was certainly no lack of Christmas Spirit here at Sewells thanks to the talented local legends from the year 10 woodwork class at Trinity College Colac. Once again, they blew all our staff away with their skill when they presented us with their hand-crafted decorations. These were custom made to feature in our Christmas window display, alongside the decorations created by the class of 2022 the previous year.

Our reception window transformed into a winter wonderland, featuring a life-sized version of Santa’s sleigh and three of his reindeer, as well as our brand-new nutcrackers, gingerbread men, and multiple snowflakes each artfully embellished with our firm’s logo. The year 10 class really put in the hard work for us in 2023, and it paid off in spades!

We created the elaborate window display back in 2022, after one of our owners, Meagan Compton, was inspired by the iconic Myers windows. This came as no surprise to our team- we all know Meagan is full of cheer when it comes to Christmas. In a way to spread her cheerfulness with the community, the idea for our very own window display came about. Word got around, and Trinity’s woodwork teacher, Robert Elborough, jumped on board Meagan’s grand plan. Working together, they decided that Santa’s sleigh and reindeer would be the perfect place to start, and thanks to the incredible year 10 Woodwork students, the Murray Street window came to life.

We reached out to Robert Elborough again in 2023. Generously, he and his team of year 10 students were happy to help again and we could not be more proud with what they have created for us. They not only brought joy to our team, but to our clients and everyone else who passed by our magical Murray Street window.

Thank you to these young local legends. Your fantastic work never fails to dazzle team Sewells! We wish you all the best as you enter VCE in 2024.
